Tankii ANSI standard K type Thermocouple grade wire 14 to 40 AWG 

NiCr-NiSi (Type K) thermocouple finds the widest use in all basemetal thermocouple, at temperature above 500 °C.
Nickel chromium -nickel silicon thermocouple (K-type thermocouple) is the most widely used low metal thermocouple at present, which is the sum of other thermocouples.
The nominal chemical composition of the positive pole (KP) is Ni: Cr=90:10, the nominal chemical composition of the negative pole (KN) is Ni: Si=97:3, and the operating temperature is - 200~1300 ºC.

K-type thermocouple has the advantages of good linearity, large thermoelectric electromotive force, high sensitivity, good stability and uniformity, strong oxidation resistance, low price, etc.
It can be used in oxidizing inert atmosphere.

Type K thermocouple has strong resistance to oxidation than other base metal thermocouples. It has high EMF against Platinum 67, excellent temperature accuracy, sensitivity and stability, with a low cost. It is recommended for oxidizing or inert atmospheres, but cannot be used directly in the following cases:

(1) Alternatively oxidizing and reducing atmosphere.
(2) Atmosphere with sulphur gases.
(3) Long time in vacuum.
(4) Low oxidizing atmosphere such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide atmosphere.
